Visitation will be Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Sunday, August 29, 2021, from 12:30 PM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM. Debbie’s three step grandchildren, Jaden, Aubrey, and Chevy, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends also survive her and will miss her greatly. (Judy) of Girdler, Virgil Smith (Helen) of Flat Lick, John Smith (Cathy) of Girdler, Daniel Smith (Cathy) of Girdler, Gary Smith (Lisa) of Woollum, and sisters Annalee Smith of Barbourville, Ada Ray of Corbin, Jean Gray (Danny) of Girdler, Lois Messer (Alvin) of Girdler, and Joyce Jordan (Billy Ray) of Girdler also survive her, as do Debbie’s mother-in-law, Carolyn Sue Bright, and father-in-law, Denver Bright, of Stinking Creek, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Nettie Smith of Girdler, Sheena and Dennis Frost of Knoxville, TN., Billy Joyce and Michael Bright, of Woollum, Jennifer and Efrem Brown of Corbin, and Ashley and Tommy Mills of Corbin. Left behind to mourn Debbie’s passing is her beloved husband, Joey Bright, son Joseph Matthew Bright, and daughter Bianca Paige Bright. In addition to her parents, Bill Smith and Winnie Swafford Smith, Debbie was preceded in death by her brother, Arvil Smith, sister, Sally Smith, sister-in-law, Susan Keck, and brothers-in -law, Dennis Ray, and R.C. But spoiling her daughter Bianca, and traveling with her sisters and nieces, was what Debbie loved doing the most. She enjoyed yard selling, riding her ATV, and detailing and customizing her truck. She found great comfort in the protection her five big brothers provided her throughout the years. On February 14, 1998, she united in marriage to Joey Bright and through this union she gained a son, Joseph Matthew Bright, and a daughter, Bianca Paige Bright. She was the daughter of the late Bill Smith and Winnie Swafford Smith, born to them on March 21, 1966.ĭebbie will be missed by all who knew her. – Debbie Sue (Smith) Bright, 55, of Girdler, passed away August 24, 2021.
